It’s been a couple of months since I began my current reading journey. It all started because I’d grown annoyed at what appeared to me to be a pattern in the comments on The Market Urbanism Report’s Facebook group. The pattern is thus:

Commenters claiming a mantle of expertise condescend to others while offering opinions based on falsehoods. It is a pattern of those who make themselves out to be the most rational

Research Scott Beyer in Paradise Papers, etc.

This is what led me to the rhetoric of economics and the late rhetorician James Arnt Aune. In a footnote to one of his last works, he noted Philip Mirowski. Ultimately landed me at David Golumbia.

Easy to criticize Beyer, but more important is the self-criticism.
